Blessed With the Overflow

The Lord wants to bless us with all spiritual blessings. These blessings are eternal and are more important than all our earthly blessings. The Lord gives us His Holy Spirit who empowers us to be witnesses of the Lord Jesus. He works in our hearts to develop the divine nature in our lives and produce the fruit of the Spirit such as love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. He gives us the gifts of the Spirit to help us minister to a needy world and bring healing and deliverance.

The Lord wants us to grow into spiritual maturity and receive a deep revelation of the love of God and the plans and the purposes of God. If we neglect the spiritual blessings, we will find that all the worldy benefits are ultimately in vain.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3)

Being Guided into the Overflow

The Lord wants to grant us guidance and wisdom liberally. The Lord was pleased when King Solomon asked for wisdom and granted him more than he asked by adding riches and honor in addition to wisdom. The Lord wants to guide us in taking the best decisions for our life. His thoughts and ways are infinitely higher than ours. We must rely on the Lord and trust in Him to lead us and guide us. The Holy Spirit is available to lead us into all truth.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

Living in the Overflow of Joy

The Lord wants to grant us joy to the fullest. He wants us to live our life , not with just a little joy , but a joy that is complete. The joy of the Lord is our strength. The Lord wants to turn our sorrows into joy. He wants to fill us with joy by turning your captivity and delivering us from our enemies. He wants us to enjoy the joy of experiencing victory in all our battles.

"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." John 15:11

Living in the Overflow of Mercy

The Lord wants to grant us His mercy beyond our expectations. He wants to forgive our sins and iniquities and be merciful to our transgressions because of His great love towards us. When we repent of our sins and turn to the Lord, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins.

The prodigal son received mercy beyond his expectations when he returned to his father. Zacheus received mercy beyond his expectations when he met Jesus and his whole life was transformed. The laborers in the vineyard who could not find employment until the last hour, received mercy beyond their expectations when the master gave them the same payment as those who found work in the morning itself. The thief on the cross received mercy beyond his expectation when Jesus promised him that he would with Him in paradise.

"The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love."
Psalm 103:8

The Overflow of Provision

The Lord wants to meet our needs abundantly. He wants us to overflow with His blessings so that not only our needs are met but we can also help others who are in need. When we honor the Lord by giving generously to His Kingdom, He has promised to bless us to an overflowing level.

When Jesus fed the five thousand and the four thousand by multiplying bread, they had plenty left over even after everyone ate and were full. When the widow shared her last meal with Elijah, she and her son were fed miraculously throughout the famine. When Peter let the Lord Jesus use his boat, the Lord blessed him with an overflowing catch of fishes. The Lord blesses us beyond our expectation.

"The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you." (Deut. 28:11)

The Overflow of Answered Prayer

The Lord wants to answer our prayers beyond our expectations. When Hannah prayed for a son, the Lord granted her more than she expected and made her the mother of a great prophet. When we remember the cross of Calvary, He who gave His Son for us will surely grant everything else that we need. The Lord encourages us to ask so that we can receive. Our heavenly Father enjoys giving good gifts to His children. We must live in close fellowship and intimacy with God and our hearts must be in tune with Him. Then the Lord will grant the desires of our heart.

"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:32)

An Overflow That Destroys the Enemy

You might not have the power and strength to stand against an adversary. But God will cause an overflow anointing for the destruction of your enemies.  For the enemies who try to take you over or destroy you, when this overflow of anointing comes through your life it will cause the enemy to be destroy itself.

This anointing destroys the yoke.  In this overflow, you will not need to go do the battle.  When this anointing overflows in your life, it will become the channel that God uses to overcome your adversary and the scheme of the enemy to destroy you.

Are you hungry to be filled with this anointing?   Make yourself available to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in this generation.  Your deliverance on one side and it will be your enemy’s destruction also.

The Overflow of Worship

Before the overflow could begin there needs to be worship.

"It happened in the morning about the time of offering the sacrifice, that behold, water came by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water." (2 Kings 3:20)

Praying done, faith is there, Word received, work done, planning done, the water did not start to flow until the sacrifice took place next morning.   We need to go higher and higher to the greater level in worship. When we worship our Lord, the water will fill the valley, streets, homes, and hearts of the people in this city. When you worship your children, families, husbands, wife, neighbor will be filled with this anointing.

Filling Up for the Overflow

When we are not straight with God we cannot be filled or fully filled and used by God in the overflow experience.  Before you pour into the vessel you must shut the door behind you.

So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they were bringing the vessels to her and she poured. 6 When the vessels were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not one vessel more." And the oil stopped.  (2 Kings 4:5)

There are many distractions from pouring the oil to the jars. The oil is available and needs to be poured to the other vessels. Only fill up to your desire and commitment.  Shut the door behind you. But before you pour, you need to close the door and start  pray so the oil can pour in to the empty vessels. Whatever is taking your concentration away from God, needs to be shut. Whatever hinders you from pouring the oil to the vessels need to be shut.

Experiencing the Overflow of Loving One Another

As Christians, we will either live life from a loving relationship with God that spills over into all our relationships, or we will live on empty and have nothing to offer those around us. In order to live life out of the overflow of our relationship with God, we must love one another habitually, connect with God daily, and reflect on the depths of God’s love regularly.  Loving others is only possible when we tap into God’s infinitive source of love.

A Life of Overflow

Christ displays His power by sending various times of outpourings.

• Christ pours out His power to transform
• Christ pours out His blessings to assist
• Christ pours out His Spirit to sanctify
• Christ pours out His grace to forgive
• Christ pours out His presence to comfort
• Christ pours out His love to encourage

The reality is that the love of Christ is so vast that it has to spill out of heaven. We have been called to live in the overflow of Christ’s supreme and divine love. Everything of consequence in this universe flows from the overflow of Christ’s love. When we live in the overflow, it changes our lives. The overflow changes our behavior. The overflow changes who we are and how treat others.

Love is the key. Joy is love singing. Peace is love resting. Long-suffering is love enduring. Kindness is love’s touch. Goodness is love’s character. Faithfulness is love’s habit. Gentleness is love’s self forgetfulness. Self control is love holding the reigns.
